Free tools for AI search

7 tools for checking and improving how AI assistants read your site. No account, no email wall, no trial countdown — open one, use it, close the tab.

They are free because they are genuinely useful on their own and because the people who need them are the people who need the product. That is the whole strategy, and saying so out loud seems better than pretending otherwise.

Where to start

Start with the AI Crawler Checker. It answers the question underneath all the others: can the assistants you want citations from actually read your site? One line in robots.txt can make everything else moot, and blocking the wrong class of crawler is the most common self-inflicted problem in AI search.

If crawlers are getting through, run a page you care about through the AEO Readiness Score, then use Schema Validator for the structured data it is missing.

These tools tell you whether a page couldbe cited. They can't tell you whether it is — that needs the actual answers engines are giving for your queries. How we collect those, and what every source label means, is written up in the methodology.
Want to know if AI actually cites your pages?
citelity connects to your Search Console, finds the queries where AI answers without you, writes the fix, and measures what changed in positions, citations and real GA4 traffic.
